PDO threads are polymer threads that are inserted into the sub dermis, to give the effect of a lift without the requirement for invasive surgery. COG threads have tiny barbs and anchor to the skin, providing a sturdy base for when the threads are pulled tight. This causes the skin to become smoother and tighter in appearance with immediate effect.

Smooth threads are placed within the skin in a pattern similar to a hashtag (#). This causes a rush of blood flow to the area, which repairs and tightens the skin, as well as producing excess collagen. This means
that mild to moderately wrinkly and crepey skin can be treated very effectively.

Thread treatment should not be taken lightly as once within the skin, they cannot be removed. However, the body will naturally break the threads down over time. Threads may be a great option if you have moderate fine lines and wrinkles, jowls, deep nasolabial folds, facial skin laxity and lack of neck and jawline definition (also known as turkey neck).

 

Threads can also give the upper face a boost, by lifting the eyes, brows and cheeks. Interestingly, smooth threads can also be very useful in tackling skin texture from bad acne scarring.
